Well, another marching season is done. It’s been a wonderful, busy, rewarding four months! Here are some highlights:

Thanks to all the boosters for the incredible support and help they have been. Remember that the booster club still meets in the spring on the 3rd Thursday of every month. We have some great ideas for the future and we want all of the parents to be a part of it. See you at the next meeting on January 19th!

See you all in the band room at 7pm for the Band Booster Meeting!

If you’ve never been able to make it to a meeting, feel free to come and learn about the organization and talk with our team.

• Remember you represent the school and the city, so be polite and behave yourself!
• To go home with your parents after the performance you can check out with the bus chaperones at the bus
• Students can be checked out either:
- Inside the park by the Western Gate (where the band enters and exits the park) immediately before (11:00-11:30) or after (12:00-12:30) our performance, or

Thank you all for your support and hard work on Saturday at the Selma Band Review!

The Pirate Band came home with the following awards:

High Field Show Music (highest music score out of all bands)

High Field Show Visual (highest visual score out of all bands)

Grand Marshall Award (band that the Grand Marshall likes the most)

Way to go!

We are still in need of sodas and cookies for the kids’ lunch time on Saturday at Andrew Jackson Elementary School. You can drop off these items in the band room on Saturday morning.

Thank you for supporting the kids!

You still have a few days left to turn in your Reedley Exponent subscription or renewal! The band receives 50% of the proceeds and appreciates your support!
Thanks!

The deadline for students to pass off their tunes memorized is next Tuesday, October 25th at 6:55 pm. After that time any students with songs still not passed off will be ineligible for the Knott’s Berry Farm trip. You can check the status of the songs on Powerschool. There is a director in the band room every day after school to help you with your music.

Don’t wait until the last minute!

The Pirate Band Boosters will be providing pizza lunch for all band and color guard students at the Selma Band Review on Saturday 10/29/11.

We are asking each band family to donate a dozen cookies (NO NUTS please—due to possibility of kids have nut allergies) to share with the rest of the band for dessert. We will be near the Band room on October 29th to pick up your cookies. Please label your containers if you want them returned and/or securely wrap (foil) or ziplock your cookies so we don’t have any casualties during transport to Jackson School.

We are also asking each band family to donate a 12 pack of sodas too! Those may be dropped off to the band room on Thursday nights during/after practice. These do not have to be Pepsi products.
Questions? Ask a band director for more information.

Please remember: Lunch is only for the Band members, Color Guard etc. Family & friends of the band must make arrangements for their own lunch—thank you!

Great job on Saturday at Fiesta! The crowd loved our performance and had a great time.

Also, thank you to all of the parent boosters who made it a success – We appreciate your support!
